For the past few months, I couldn’t seem to get more than 147 watchers.

Why?

Because every time I get a 148th watcher, an old watcher will mysteriously deactivate or unwatch me. It’s almost guaranteed. I only spend weeks or days with 148 watchers because the count resets to 147 shortly after.

And it doesn’t seem to drop below 147 either. It’s as if something is limiting me to 147 watchers forever.

Note that I’m not complaining or begging for watchers. I’m just pointing out something strange I’ve noticed.

A few months ago, I deleted the old dinosaur cladograms I created for two reasons: one, because they were too difficult to maintain, and two, because a certain user bombarded me with comments trying to get me to rewrite them to their liking. But now that I got a specialist cladogram-making software and the user in question has since reformed, I guess it's time to bring my cladograms back!

In the eight months in which my old cladograms were gone, I remade them from the ground up. Instead of being hand-drawn, the new cladograms are created in a program called TreeGraph 2 (which only works on Windows 10, something I found out after I made the old ones). I also did a critical reappraisal of the relationships based on the latest studies. And instead of just non-avian dinosaurs, I've expanded their scope to all of Pan-Aves, including dinosaurs, Mesozoic birds, pterosaurs, and more.

So, without further ado, here are the cladograms!

I'm back!

1 min read

Recent Discoveries and Montana Zoo of Prehistory will continue, but unfortunately, Daily Dinosaur Addendum has been permanently cancelled. My two-month break has made me realize how taxing and stressful drawing on a strict schedule has been. Sorry for that!

Just so you know. Unfortunately, I grew dissatisfied with them.

They grew too difficult to maintain, but admittedly, the main reason I deleted them was because of a single user, who I shall not name. They kept commenting on those cladograms literally at least ten times every day, saying that something is wrong about them, that they are right, and that I should rewrite them to force their viewpoint.

They barely seemed to grasp the concepts of "no" or "possibly", as they kept insisting that their idea of classification is right, even when I explained that there's a chance their ideas are wrong, using scientific papers to back them up. The greatest clue to this is their language; they never used words that indicated uncertainty, always saying things along the lines of "This taxon is in this position" etc.

They also seemed to want to increase their comment count for no apparent reason, as they kept making the same statements over and over, and frequently double-commented thoughts and replies. Some of their replies also showed a lack of awareness of previous comments, possibly to solicit extra comments out of me. While they often replied to me within seconds of my comments - which was starting to creep me out to be honest - they also had the annoying habit of dropping conversations only to continue them days or weeks later. Despite this, it was starting to feel like spam, so I told them to limit their comments, to no avail.

At first I chalked it up to a young child's curiosity, but over time it seemed evident that they were crazy-obsessed with me. They chatted with me for almost one hour each day, on separate threads to boot. They made a friend of theirs to ask me a question about an interest that I don't share. Most creepily, they seemed to know everything I did on this site. They dug up comments on obscure posts that I've long forgotten, and always seemed to know when I'd post a new one. Just earlier, I commented on an artwork of a not-that-well-known skeletal artist. Literally fifteen minutes later, they somehow found it and liked it.

That was the last straw. Despite their denial, I knew they were stalking me. So I deleted the cladograms that attracted them here and blocked them.

Sorry for the rant. I just had to get it out of my system.

Edit: I just finished clearing all my notifications from them, as blocking them apparently didn't delete them. They've literally left hundreds of notifications - I'd estimate up to a thousand - and my computer actually lagged from them. That guy was the definition of an unhealthy obsession.
