Daily Dinosaur #15 - Adasaurus, Evil Spirit Lizard

Today, January 15, 2018, is the fiteenth day of my Daily Dinosaur series, where I draw a scientifically accurate dinosaur and a human (or in this case, part of a human) doing funny things. Today, I have chosen the dromaeosaurid theropod, Adasaurus mongoliensis.

Adasaurus was a dromaeosaurine dromaeosaur, a type of feathered dinosaur that was among the closest relatives of the famous Dromaeosaurus. It's placed in that group with other famous dinosaurs such as Deinonychus and Utahraptor.

The Adasaurus itself was named after Ada, an evil spirit in Mongolian mythology which surprisingly has little information known about it. The species name, A. mongoliensis, referes to its provenance from Mongolia.

Since I couldn't find any reference pictures of Ada, I have drawn Adasaurus as a generalized evil spirit surrounded by flames. A human's foot is stepping into the flames, and as the flames touch his pants, his skin is burnt to the bone.
